This was me!

I was supposed to be born on August 11th, 2005, but I arrived much earlier than expected on July 26th.

My parent's plan for me to be born in Quito, Ecuador was still fulfilled.  My mommy landed in South America at 36 weeks pregnant into the care of my maternal family.  Although I will visit every year, my parents knew that my chances of living in Ecuador would be slim and they wanted me to feel very connected with that part of my heritage.

Plus, I was able to be born at almost 10,000 ft elevation with views of snow capped Andean volcanos as the landscape.

My parents really wanted me to have a cool and unique name that also had some special meaning.

My first name is derived from Carstensz Pyramid - the highest mountain summit on the Oceania Continent. It sits in Irian Jaya on the western side of Papau New Guinea. My Daddy is going to climb it just for me as part of his Seven Summits pursuit - and maybe one day I can climb it, too!

My middle name comes from my maternal grandfather - General Jose Antonio Tamayo. It was also the name that he gave to his son (and my uncle) Antonio "Antuquito" Tamayo. Both of them will be watching over me from Heaven.
I've got my Mommy's lips!
